🖨️ Print Dimension & DPI Calculator
Convert paper size, DPI, bleed, and margin into exact pixel dimensions so your export matches the printer driver on the first try.
| Region | mm | in | px @ 300 DPI |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trim (final cut) | 210 × 297 | 8.27 × 11.69 | 2480 × 3508 |
| Bleed (with 3 mm) | 216 × 303 | 8.50 × 11.93 | 2551 × 3579 |
| Safe area (margin 10 mm) | 190 × 277 | 7.48 × 10.91 | 2244 × 3272 |
Formula: px = round((mm / 25.4) * DPI). Bleed and margin add symmetrically. Always round up when setting the canvas to avoid a 1 px gap at the trim edge.
How this print dimension calculator works
The core conversion is straightforward:
px = round((mm / 25.4) * DPI)Bleed is added symmetrically on all four sides. The safe area is the trim size minus twice the margin. The recommended export size always includes the bleed so nothing gets clipped at the cut edge.
We round up when sizing the canvas. A 1 px gap at the trim edge is the most common cause of hairline white borders on commercial print jobs — and the reason your printer driver throws a "size mismatch" warning.
When to use it
- A4 booklet with a 3 mm bleed and 10 mm safe margin — what canvas size?
- US Letter landscape flyer at 300 DPI for a glossy print run.
- Custom label roll sizing — convert mm to px for your label printer software.
- Tabloid newspaper spread with bleed — get the exact pixel target.
