File Conversion Pre-flight Checklist

FileFixPro · Convert & Compress Safely
Run through these steps before you convert, compress, or merge any file — especially anything private. Everything on FileFixPro runs 100% in your browser; nothing is uploaded. Print this sheet and tick each box as you go.

1 · Before you convert

Identify the source format. Confirm what the file actually is (not just its extension) with File Info.
Pick the right target format for the job — see the decision table below.
Make a backup copy of the original before any conversion. Never overwrite the only copy.
Decide edit-vs-lock: will the recipient change it (use a working format) or must it look identical (use PDF)?

2 · Choose the target format

3 · Convert & verify (locally)

Run the conversion in-browser — images (Image Converter / Image Compressor), sheets (CSV to XLSX), PDFs (Merge / Split / Compress).
Verify the output with File Info (size, dimensions, type) before sending.
Checksum archives you’ll store or share with File Checksum (SHA-256) and pre-check with Archive CRC Precheck.
Confirm the recipient can open it (format + software) before you hit send.
